AI data center builder Crusoe reportedly raises $3 billion at a $30 billion valuation
On September 3, 2026, Bloomberg reported that Crusoe, a company that builds and operates data centers for AI, raised more than $3 billion in new funding at a valuation of about $30 billion. That is roughly three times the $10 billion valuation from its previous round in October 2025.
The investment firms Atreides Management and Valor Equity Partners co-led the round, with Mubadala Capital also taking part. Crusoe started out in cryptocurrency mining and moved into building large computing campuses and renting out computing power, a service called cloud computing. Its customers include Meta, Microsoft, OpenAI and Oracle, and it recently signed a five-year, $13 billion cloud contract with the trading firm Jane Street.
TechCrunch, which based its story on Bloomberg's reporting, added that Crusoe has met with investment banks about a possible stock market listing.
Why it matters: Training and running AI needs enormous amounts of computing power and electricity, so investors are spending heavily on the companies that build this physical infrastructure.
